Procurement Lead and Supplier Manager

My client, a large public sector organisation, is currently recruiting for a Procurement Lead and Supplier Manager to join their team in Bristol.

The purpose of the role is to manage the tendering process with potential suppliers, ensuring that the company adheres to the appropriate legal standards and best practices which apply to the entire spectrum of purchasing and contracting activities with third parties.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

- Experience equivalent to CIPS Foundation Level 4 if qualification not held
- Direct experience of managing the tendering process for public sector IT contracts
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of current national and international legal standards in regard to purchasing and contracting in the public sector
- A substantial record of successfully delivering project results
- Sound and wide business knowledge of current and emerging purchasing practices
- Sound and wide business knowledge of current and emerging information and communications technologies
- Good attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
- Sound organisational and time management skills
- Experienced user of MS Word and Excel

All applicants must be willing to travel when required for the role which may include overnight stays on occasions.

The role is an initial 6 month contract paying up to £600/day.
