Procurement Assistant

Spring Technology require a Procurement Assistant for our government client based in Leeds.

Assignment:
They will be working on the Central Purchasing Team, taking forward calls from the business relating to purchasing order creation, help and assistance, advice on due process etc. This assignment is initially for 3 months.

The Procurement Division is responsible for determining and implementing contract strategies to deliver value for money across the whole range of the Agency's purchasing requirements. It has responsibility for the identification of the best suppliers to deliver the Agency's needs, for implementing performance measurement across the supply base and for working, in conjunction with other parts of the Agency, with suppliers to improve performance and achieve best value.

The Purchase to Pay (P2P) team is responsible for
1) taking forward procurement exercises for non-strategic non-roads procurement, such as training, car hire and publishing. This mainly involves processing call-offs from frameworks from Office of Government Commerce, Highways Agency and other Government Departments and 2) acting as the point of contact providing advice and support on non strategic non-roads procurement. The Purchase to Pay team includes the Central Purchasing Team. This is responsible for: Providing a Cost Centre Purchasing Officer (CCPO) function to the Agency; Providing Oracle Purchasing support to the Agency (including helpdesk, CCPO training, Purchase to Pay advice); Providing procurement advice specifically for smaller value items (eg less than 10k) across the Agency;
