POSITION: Process Engineer

Job type: Contract (11 Months Initially)

Skills: Process Engineer, SPC, Six Sigma, Process Control

Location: South Wales easily commutable from Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Bristol and with excellent access from Gloucester and Cheltenham

Rate: £27.70 per hour

OUTSOURCE UK LTD IS ACTIVELY SEEKING TO RECRUIT A PROCESS ENGINEER FOR A CONTRACT ROLE ON BEHALF OF A CLIENT.

A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The successful Process Engineer candidate will be responsible for the following:
Providing Support to Manufacture
The role will include investigating, planning, undertaking and recording corrective actions through best practice CI tools in the manufacturing processes in line with business requirements. In addition the role has responsibility for the development of new plant and equipment from concept through to commissioning and qualification
The successful applicant will have a strong background in manufacturing process development
Many processes involve the control of powders, liquids or slurries through pressing, casting or extrusion processes; therefore knowledge of materials technology or fluids is desirable but not essential
A good knowledge of statistical techniques for measuring process capability and maintaining process control would be an advantage, including an understanding of six-sigma and the ability to develop, establish and maintain capable production processes
Applicants must be self-motivated, able to demonstrate good planning and organisational skills, have a good technical and manufacturing base knowledge, show initiative and be able to work under pressure. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Although knowledge of munitions and explosive processing is an advantage, it is not essential as training will be given

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONStest matrices, test development plans, CI plans, reject reduction plans
Have working knowledge of relevant standards (SIL, ATEX, etc.)
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
