Process Development Project Technician

To support the complex drug product design and process development projects being executed, there is a need for additional specialized laboratory scientists to be engaged.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Hands-on generation of data using laboratory techniques such as X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, NMR (solid state and liquid), vibrational spectroscopy, Laser diffraction particle size analysis, electron microscopy, liquid chromatography, shear cell testing, compaction simulation, etc.
- Hands-on generation of data using small scale manufacturing technologies such as blending, granulation, milling, tablet compaction, encapsulation, film coating, etc.
- Preparation of prototype formulations (solutions, suspensions, tablets, capsules, etc) for exploratory studies in in-vitro and in-vivo models.
- Evaluation of the robustness of prototype drug product manufacturing processes.
- Analysis of solid and liquid samples for key physical and chemical properties (such as solubility, static charge, sticking potential, segregation tendency, etc).
- Accurate record keeping of the above activities using electronic databases, notebooks and document management systems.
- Calculation of derived parameters and properties from primary data.
- Scale-up and scale-down of drug product manufacturing processes using engineering models and computer simulations.
- Maintaining and calibrating complex instrumentation (such as X-ray diffractometers, Raman spectrometers, electron microscopes, tablet presses, film-coaters, etc).
- Working in a GLP or GMP environment with appropriate documentation and safety practices.
- Evaluation of new equipment/technology.

SKILLS:

1-3 years MS Outlook required

- Must have 2-5 years of work experience
- Typically qualified to BS, MS or PhD in chemistry, engineering, biology, pharmacy, materials science, physics, computer science or related field.
