The role

EXPERIENCED PROBATION OFFICER

This is a temporary role for 3months (with the possibility of extension) to work within a welcoming and friendly team who are keen to identify an individual committed to providing a quality service, in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
* providing pre-sentence reports for court on people charged with an offence.
* delivering specialist programmes to change offenders' attitudes and behaviour.
* providing specialist reports to prison governors and parole review boards.
* undertaking meticulous record keeping and review processes.
* working with prisoners during and after their sentence.
* working with other agencies to help local crime reduction and community safety.
* managing approved premises.
* attending court, sometimes to testify about written recommendations in reports.

The successful applicant must have at least 2 years post qualifying experience (exclusive of degree placements) within this field and must hold a relevant probation qualification. Enhanced CRB is essential.
