Prinicpal Transportation Strategy & Engagement Officer

Annual Salary - £35,500 - £59,500

Full Time - 37 Hours Per Week

9 Month Fixed Term Contract

This role is a vital function within Economic Growth and Regeneration as it will require LEADING A TEAM OF TRANSPORTATION PROFESSIONALS who have responsibility for securing mutli millon pound programmes of work designed sepcifically to manage congestion and stimulate economic growth.

Operating on a locality basis, and engaging with key strategic stakeholders within an operations management environment, the role is to DEVISE AND CO-ORDINATE LAND USE TRANSPORTATION STRATEGIES, by working across the customer operations service, and in collaboration with a wide range of local authority, government agency and private sector organisations.

The postholder WILL EXPLORE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES, AND DEVISE DELIVERY PROGRAMMES to provide an effective forward planning service. Acting in close collaboration with ECC's Commissioners, the postholder will assemble policies, initiatives, schemes and measures on a geographical basis to integrate land use and transportation provision, and on a case by case basis sub commission subsequent design and delivery work, often being responsible for a complete programme of activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- Degree and Post Graduate qualification in Transport (MSc or Diploma) or equivalent project experience
- Significant and demonstrable post qualification experience in the field of land use and transport planning or civil engineering and project management and implementation
- Comprehensive knowledge of the DEVELOPMENT PLAN SYSTEM AND PLANNING LEGISLATION and the inter relationship between transportation and the development process
