Principle / Senior Electrical Engineer

My client is a major support partner to the Royal Navy and market leading FTSE 250 organisation who are currently looking for a Princinple / Senior Electrical Engineer on a temporary 3 month contract based in Devonport, Plymouth.

The client is seeking Chartered Engineers or who are capable of achieving chartered status, ideally hold a degree in a relevant discipline and have relevant experience in the design and engineering environment of the platforms or subsystems. They are required to have a good working knowledge of the codes and standards and authorities regulating the work environment and will be able to demonstrate their ability to:
*Produce unambiguous statement of the customer's requirements. Able to verify and amend statements of requirements prepared by team members.
*Extend a sound grasp of current engineering theories and techniques into new areas of work.
*Review and select the best design approach to solve engineering problems.
*Provide practical engineering solutions to problems and objectively assess different design options.
*Lead presentations, meetings and design reviews.
*Produce clear and concise technical documentation.
*Work to agreed quality standards and regulatory constraints.
*Ensure application of quality management principles by team members.
*Ensure teams are working to appropriate processes and procedures.
*Communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
*Manage health and safety aspects of the design, self and others.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:-
*Governance of electrical design.
*Undertaking Design Authority Role on behalf of the company.
*Provide Professional design consultancy to both company and client
*Manage design activities with a small team
*Manage project planning
*Undertake design activities including (concept/detailed design, theoretical analysis, modelling, calculations, assessments, specifications and reports)
*Management of external suppliers
*Review and approval of design documentation.
*Produce unambiguous statements of requirements
*Provide innovative and practical solutions to problems
*Prepare for and lead design reviews
*Provide technical support and training to fellow engineers to develop their technical and professional capabilities.
*Autonomous self-management of work to time, cost and quality.
