Principal Systems Engineer

A leading defence client has a new requirement for a Principal Systems Engineer for an initial 12 month period. Due to the nature of this position, candidates must currently hold, or be eligible to attain an SC level Security Clearance prior to start.

Job Description

A Principal Systems Engineer is required to undertake systems modelling and general systems activities within the Electronic Warfare Line of Business. The Systems Engineer will be joining an established team of Systems Engineers working within an IPT.

Responsibilities:

- Requirements capture and derivation.
- Test plan preparation
- Support to Qualification/Verification activities
- Analysis of test results and preparation of Test reports
- Preparation of Verification Cross-Reference Matrix
- Deliver to agreed performance targets
- Using technical expertise to solve problems, generate ideas and be pro-active within the team

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge:

- A degree in Electronics, Systems Engineering or Physics (or equivalent). Understanding of RF technology desirable.
- Experience of working with the DOORS Requirements engineering tool
- Experience of defining, supporting and reporting on Qualification/Verification activities
- Able to interact with subject matter experts regarding a wide range of technical and operational topics.
- Understanding of the CONOPS analysis, Requirements Management, System Design Process (including System and Sub-System Specification)
- Experience of working with Mathematical analysis tools (Matlab/Simulink) and system design tools (MODAF/UML).
