Principal Mechanical Engineer

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer is required whose primary role is to effectively and efficiently deliver mechanical design solutions against project and customer requirements, in accordance with budget, timescales and technical performance.

The successful candidate will perform the below tasks:
To champion mechanical engineering best practice to deliver optimised engineering solutions to meet requirements at optimised cost.
Provide technical guidance, leadership & direction on critical technical problems.
Set standards for behaviours, technical leadership and quality of mechanical engineering.
Conduct Peer Reviews.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Broad experience across more than one of the life cycle phases, demonstrating a true through life approach to engineering.
Extensive experience in at least one technical domain with proven customer delivery performance.
Broad experience of using Business System tools and processes used in the design, development and delivery of product.
Has some experience of preparing engineering related material for contract reviews, eg contributing to the risk register or deliverable status, awareness of contents of contract Review Packs through project team briefs/communications.
Has some experience of peer reviews (eg by using others in team to check work for correctness and/or maturity).
Has some experience of design reviews, typically by contributing evidence for assessment.
Has taken part as a design review assessor within own specialist area.
Typically, has some experience of assessing an appropriate phase review deliverable in one or more phases of the life cycle.

Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
