Principal Lawyer

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Principal Lawyer to review applications from injured workers who require legal assistance relating to disputes with their insurers.

Your duties will include:

- Provide high level legal advice on reasonable prospects of success
- Prepare instructions and files for external legal advice
- Review applications by injured workers for legal assistance to cover the costs of their cases in respect of a denial of liability by an insurer
- Make recommendations to deny or support the application for financial assistance
- Provide recommendation to the Director Legal Assistance

Your background:

- Proven experience working in a similar role.
- The ability to work within a team environment as well as taking full ownership of designated tasks
- The ability to network with both internal and external parties
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Capacity to lead or participate in policy development through consultation, stakeholder engagement, scoping needs, development, implementation and review

Other Requirements:

- Eligibility for admission as an Australian lawyer in NSW
