Principal Java Engineer

An industry leading financial software company is currently expanding the capabilities of their products in several new areas. Within the company there is a Java development team that holds the reputation as one of the strongest in the industry. This team is currently in need of a Principal Java Engineer to help influence and impact the architecture, standards and design of key product initiative for applications in C# and Java. The Principal Java Engineer will contribute as a senior individual contributor within this elite team of Java engineers. Requirements: * BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field * 7-10+ years of commercial software development * Proficient in developing multi-tier solutions * Minimum 5 years of professional Java development * Financial industry experience is ideal but not required; specific development experience of a financial application is a huge plus * Ability to work independently, handle multiples tasks * Senior individual contributor or Architect level Technical Experience: * Extensive Java n-tier application experience * Hands-on experience with web services * Strong SQL skills with considerable experience in Oracle or SQL * Knowledge of XML/XSL * Experience with Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic or Websphere * Strong with OO design and development * Solid grasp of algorithms and solving difficult optimization types of problems
