Principal Design Engineer

PRINCIPAL DESIGN ENGINEER - RAIL - UP TO 50K - PERMANENT - MANCHESTER I am currently looking for a Principal Design Engineer with a background in Rail for a Client based in Manchester on a Permanent Staff basis. This is an extremely prestigious and desired position and I have to stipulate that must be in possession of a Tier 1 Visa / be a British Citizen (for occasional travel purposes) and have at least 15 years Engineering experience before applying to this role. Experience I am looking for MUST include the below: - Minimum of HNC/Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. - At least 15 years experience within the Engineering industry, including at least 8 years design experience and holding (IRSE) Principal Design Licence. - Membership of IET and IRSE desirable. A current IRSE Principle Design engineer's Licence is essential. A Testing & Commissioning license would be advantageous. - Management and use of appropriate CAD design packages. - Site experience is essential. Experience of carrying out surveys and working in possessions, preferably in testing & commissioning role. - Excellent level of broader knowledge of other related engineering discipline and their interfaces with signalling such as OLE, track and power. - A sound understanding of project engineering and project management requirements and the interfaces with the technical leadership of railway projects. Evidence of project management awareness would be an advantage.
