Postdoctoral Associate, Computational Biology (Job Number 1257)

The MIT-Broad Foundry at the Broad Institute has an opening for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate in Computational Biology.

The Foundry is a collaboration between the Broad Institute's Technology Labs and MIT's Synthetic Biology Center. We utilize high-throughput methods to develop novel enabling approaches for synthetic biology, with a particular focus on the design, construction, and analysis of complex genetic programs that would otherwise be inaccessible. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of synthetic biologists spanning several institutions, including the Broad Institute, MIT, and Boston University, all working together to address these challenges.

Our work combines large-scale DNA assembly, computational biology, and cellular analytics to enable the design of synthetic circuits and pathways of increasing complexity and utility. We seek a Postdoctoral Associate to join these efforts to establish new paradigms for the engineering and optimization of genetic programs. The ideal candidate will utilize high-throughput data to create new design methods based on the development of new biophysical models, the development and application of machine-learning approaches, and on the analysis of transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data.
