This opening is for a post-doctoral research fellow in the epigenetic research laboratory of Dr. Yujiang Shi. The laboratory is located within the Brigham Women's Hospital in the Longwood Medical Area of Boston. The main focus of the research in this laboratory is how epigenetic control of human genomic information, specifically via chromatin modifications, can contribute to complex human development and disease.

Much of the research is focused on: 1) biological function and the mechanism of action of histone demethylases, as well as TET family of DNA methyl hydroxylase in gene regulation, development and oncogenesis; 2) understanding the importance of dynamic regulation of epigenome, in particular, the loss of 5-hmC , a new epigenetic mark, as a hallmark for human cancers.
