Position Portfolio/Programme Planner

Type: Fixed Term Contract

Location: Coventry

Salary: £47,564

My government client requires an experienced Portfolio/Programme Planner to help resource the major work needed on a large reform project and present a consolidated plan in various ways to the different stakeholder groups

Experience Required:

*Programme schedule baselining

*Planning techniques such as Pert, network analysis, critical path analysis

*Resource planning and smoothing

Skills Required:

*Ability to communicate both orally and in writing: ideas, concepts, recommendations, and complex information clearly and concisely in a timely manner.

*Strong organisational skills including demonstrated resolve for following up with team members and leadership on outstanding items.

*Ability to methodically analyse situations and issues, identify options, draw logical conclusions and determine and recommend practical courses of action using, creativity, good judgement and strategic thinking.

*Problem solving skills together with understanding business drivers and the ability to constructively challenge to find the right solution.

*Extensive experience working with MS Project or other similar planning tools.

*Influencing and negotiating skills with stakeholders and workstream leads.

*Ability to communicate complex and technical material effectively in writing, pictures and orally in a non-technical way.

*Detailed working knowledge of MS Project and converting these into visio diagrams.

The successful candidate should be able to bring a flexible, pro-active approach and the ability to work under pressure, managing and resolving priorities. Public sector experience is highly desirable.
