Description:
The main purpose of this role is to manage the Project Support Analyst (PSA) team of PSA's and Senior PSA's, provide support to the Portfolio Managers and Portfolio director, ensure continuous improvement of the PSA capability, provide Portfolio level consolidation and reporting, act as the primary interface to the PMO, COO, Programmes and Product to improve the process integration, simplification and standardisation and to ensure that everything is up to date, of the right quality and consistency in the use of tools, report production, data maintenance and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
-Line management of the PSA team within the Business Unit to ensure consistency and quality are provided to the Programme and Project Managers
-Provide PSA's with a clear focus and direction on Project/Programme governance
-Ensure standards for planning, estimating, RAID, change, tracking, monitoring and reporting prescribed by the PMO are adopted and adhered to
-Assignment of PSA's to new Projects/Programmes and ensure that there are enough resources to provide support
-Conduct regular reviews of individual PSA objectives to ensure progress is being made
-Challenge the Project and programme managers to hand off more of the day to day activities to the PSA so that they can concentrate on the management of the project
-Provide a strategic portfolio overview of all programmes, projects and interdependencies, reporting anomalies or areas of concern to senior management
-Develop and maintain the Portfolio risk, issue and dependency register in alignment with the PMO function
-Production of Exec level management information and reporting against KPI's in alignment with PMO function
-Evaluate and implement process improvements which improve project workflow and more effective delivery
-Develop, maintain and provide expert assistance to:
-Existing and potential business systems on behalf of the Business Unit
-Commissioning process whereby programmes and projects are added/deleted from the portfolio
-Provide input and attend monthly and quarterly financial reviews with Portfolio Director, Portfolio Manager and Programme Manager
-Resource Management - assist with developing and maintaining an integrated resource management process in partnership with COO
-Develop stakeholder strategy and ensure communications are timely and effective
-Work alongside the Product team to ensure provision of monthly contractual obligation information for inclusion in the monthly Portfolio update
-To attend and minute key meetings as required by project governance, regular or ad-hoc. Ensure that actions are progressed ahead of the next scheduled meeting
-To carry out any other tasks associated with the role as reasonably requested, working proactively and creatively to achieve deliverables in the most effective manner

Some of the most important relationships you will need to build will be with the Project Support Analysts, Portfolio Managers and Directors, the Programme Assurance Group and within various Finance related teams and their leaders.

The successful candidate must continually demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
-Experience of managing a team
-Experience as a Portfolio or Programme Coordinator, in a Portfolio or Programme and Project environment
-Expert knowledge of Financial Processes and financial reporting requirements, in particular Portfolio Performance Reporting
-Experience of portfolio cross dependency planning and reporting
-Experience of producing Exec Level MI Dashboards and reporting against KPIs
-Candidate must be capable of working with and making an impact on a diverse group of knowledgeable and largely Senior Management
-Programme and Project Office experience of high priority/complex IT/Business Projects and programmes of work
-Full knowledge and extensive experience of Programme and Project Office methodologies
-Understanding of project management basics and methodologies
-Good experience of Resourcing Process for internal and external consultants
-Detailed knowledge of configuration and Quality Management techniques
-Good communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders (written and verbal)
-Self-driven individual: ability to work/ act independently
-Ability to work in a structured way to ensure consistency/ predictability/ quality
-Quick learner, results focussed, ability to work in a fast paced environment

-Experience of working in a formal project management environment
-Experience of working in an IT organisation
-Good understanding of a typical project lifecycle
-Familiarity with project management methodologies, disciplines and tools
-Experience of project financial accounting, reporting and forecasting
-Proficiency in MS Project 2003-2010 and ability to set up and maintain project plans
-Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
-Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision
-Good organisation skills and a high level of customer focus
