Policy Researcher/Reviewer/Consultant (Funeral Poverty)

*POLICY RESEARCHER/REVIEWER/CONSULTANT/OFFICER WITH A FUNERAL POVERTY FOCUS REQUIRED FOR 4 WEEK CONTRACT WITH A KEY PUBLIC SECTOR CLIENT BASED IN EDINBURGH*

The ideal candidate will have expertise in funeral poverty, or significant relevant experience and be available to start immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To produce a Funeral Poverty report/review and subsequent recommendations on the issues surrounding and influencing funeral poverty with a focus on:

- Potential role/actions for public sector bodies and other sectors (eg Local Authorities, Funeral Industry, Insurers, Credit Unions, etc) in mitigating the effects of funeral poverty on bereaved families.
- Opportunities for preventative work/early interventions to reduce the pressure of funeral poverty in the future.
- The review will draw on previous work, published reports, interviews with a range of stakeholders, consultation meetings with funeral directors and funeral industry representatives and a minimum of two focus groups with members of the public selected for their interest.
- The viewers will be required to meet with key stakeholders as requested during the preparation of the review.
