My client is a large Government organization looking to engage a Policy Officer to support their policy and communications requirements relating to its remit for assessment. This role seeks the provision of high level written policy advice and analysis on issues affecting national assessment and reporting activities and initiatives for consideration/endorsement at various levels of authority.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Lead development of policy advice in the area of national assessments, including determining and conducting any necessary background research and analysis.
- Manage communications activities, including oversight of the relevant website and utilising a range of strategies to develop clear support materials to explain nuanced concepts in a way that is accessible to a range of audiences including key and community stakeholders.
- Identify issues and provide risk analyses and strategies
- Anticipate, confirm relevant matters and prepare high level reports, briefings and advice
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate agreed positions and to ensure national consistency

SKILLS:

- Demonstrated expertise in undertaking research and analysis
- Broad stakeholder communication and engagement experience
- Previous experience in managing review projects, developing project specifications and contracts, and playing a key bridging role between contractors, internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational capability
- Experience of working in a policy development/analysis environment, within a broad government or public policy environment
