PMO Lead - Leeds - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Capita Customer Management provide outsourced contact centre (digital and voice) and back office solutions to many well-known high street brands. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PMO Lead to join the Business Change & Transformation PMO, currently responsible for reporting, governance, resource management and process improvement for projects managed within the business.

The PMO Lead will be responsible for the provision of MI and reports across a range of project performance metrics as well as benefits tracking, forecast vs actual resource usage and financial information. This will involve embedding of processes that support accurate data capturing by Project Analysts and Project Managers. Advanced Excel skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for identifying trends and understanding the limitations of data used in reports.

As the Centre of Excellence for Capita Customer Management, the Business Change PMO is also responsible for embedding and improving the Project Management Framework across the business and within the department. A strong understanding of standard project processes is necessary for outlining the standards, tools, documents and processes that all Project Managers should adhere to. The PMO Lead will also be involved in maintaining the overall framework and liaising with different areas of the business including Finance, IT and Commercial to ensure consistent processes are used wherever possible.

Over time this role may also become responsible for other elements of PMO support services, including but not limited to Post Implementation Review workshops, formal Project Management induction/training, Assurance reviews and business planning support.

The PMO Lead will also provide advice and guidance to Project Managers on best practice and project management governance, support the PMO Manager in any improvement initiatives or strategic projects, and also get involved in recruitment activities as needed.

This is an exciting, fast paced PMO role, allowing the ideal candidate to get involved across the wide range of activities and have a positive impact to the Project Management Office.

Accountabilitiesincluding appropriate document templates and access to accurate information in a well structured environment.
- Support the roll out of any new project management methodologies and working tools.
- Set up the Project Document Structure, ensuring adherence and control across the whole project team, in turn ensuring all project collateral is stored in a rigorous and compliant manner and readily accessible by all team members.
- Carry out ad-hoc analysis and report writing as required.
- Support the recruitment process and on board new Project Management staff in to the team, including, Induction and PM Framework training.
- Hold responsibility for project level time recording using the company time recording system, ensuring all team members accurately record time against key activities, in turn enabling detailed analysis and reporting around project related activities.
- Support any project management related improvements, in line with PMO and Portfolio Maturity plans.
- Mentor and support other members of the Portfolio Support Office as needed.
- Attendance at meetings and deputise as necessary for key team members.
- Delivery and support of key project communications to the team.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

Qualifications

- Ideally to A-Level standard with a formal project management qualification e.g. Prince2 or P30

Knowledge

- Expert in the use of office tools particularly Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
- Good understanding of PMO processes within a fast paced project environment
- Good understanding of the standard project lifecycle management documentation used throughout

Experience

- Ideally 2 to 3 years' experience in a Business Change, PMO or Project Management environment
- Experience of working for a large corporate company in a contact centre management would be an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels in a global cross-cultural environment
- Experienced in working with staff remotely and in a matrix environment
