PLC Programmer

An exceptional opportunity has become available for a PLC programmer to work on an extremely high profile and high value space project. You will need to have experience of Programming PLC/Scada systems for a dynamic control system including the design of control loop algorithms (PID) in order to maintain the correct operation of a cryogenic cooling system. You will need to have exceptional algorithm development capability to reflect a large number of system inputs and outputs.

Details of Role - The Application

* Utilising a mixed-phase (ie liquid and gas) nitrogen cooling system.
* Requires monitoring and communication of a large number of system parameters
* Requires implementation of a bespoke PLC control loop to maintain the precise temperature
* Achieved by controlling the flow rate of liquid nitrogen coolant into the system and the exhaust of gaseous nitrogen.

Details of Role - The System

* Structured Text development
* Controlling of valves and driving heaters
* Monitoring of gas flow rate, temperature, humidity, pressure and liquid level sensors etc.
* Utilisation of serial communications protocols
* Web HMI module in PLC for remote control via Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
* PC based C++ for image capture control and storage.
