PL1 Analyst Programmer

The Senior Mainframe Developer is responsible for providing application solutions to fulfil business requirements using sound, repeatable, systematic and quantifiable industry best practices and in accordance with appropriate methodologies (eg Agile, Incremental, Spiral...). Required activities will include creation of application design, work estimation, modifying/updating existing Mainframe software and/or developing new programs as defined in a detailed system design. The Mainframe developer will also be responsible for writing, executing and evaluating test cases as well as completing all required system documentation. Though this role has primarily a Mainframe focus, a fair understanding of present technologies (Midrange, Databases, Web-based systems) is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

- At least 10 years of experience developing software applications in an IBM Mainframe environment
- At least 10 years of experience with PL1, Cobol, VM/MVS, VSAM, DB2, IMS, JCL
- Hands-on experience in Mainframe system development life cycle, including: requirements development/management, development, standards, quality control, release management, testing, documentation.
- Experience with various development methodologies (eg Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, etc.)
- Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications and designs as well as estimate the amount of effort necessary to complete the tasks
