Performance Test Engineer

Currently we are seeking a performance test engineer to join our team of professionals.  The Sr. Performance/Load Test Engineer will be responsible for leading all activities related to stress, performance and load testing delivery for application release and infrastructure related projects.  Activities will include driving the test planning process and documenting performance test plan.  Working with scrum teams to determine testing requirements and objectives, workflows, scenarios, test types, and test data requirements. VuGen Scripting and test execution using Performance Center.  Test results analysis including working with Development and Architecture teams to troubleshoot issues identified during test execution, reviewing error logs, identifying performance bottlenecks, and results reporting using HP Analysis and custom reports.

Performance Test Engineer will work in an extremely fast-paced environment with challenging project schedules, and projects that span multiple scrum teams and lines of business.  This individual must be capable of facilitating the performance testing efforts by working with Development, Architecture, Testing, Project Managers and Scrum Masters both within, and outside of the organization.

4-6 months (can be extended up to 18 months)

Rate 50.00-55.00 per hour W2

PERFORMANCE TEST ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS

- 8+ years of experience in software development or testing.
- Minimum of 5 years of stress, performance and load testing experience, including test planning, execution and analysis. 
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with VuGen Scripting including correlation, parameterization and data configuration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using HP Performance Center or LoadRunner and SiteScope
- Minimum 3 years of experience with APM tools such as Introscope or OpTier
- Experience with WebSphere in reviewing and tuning parameters such as connection pools, heap sizing, and garbage collection.
- Recent work experience that meets specified requirements.

PERFORMANCE TEST ENGINEER PREFERRED SKILLS

- Understanding of different environments, platforms and databases such as Windows, Unix/Linux, IIS, WebSphere, JBoss, Oracle and Sybase, and associated counters and KPIs.
- Ability to analyze web server and application logs such as access, error, system_out, system_err and verbosegc, and make recommendations based on performance analysis.
- Experience using code profiling tools to identify source of inefficient SQL, redundant operations, memory leaks, etc. 
- Experience consolidating results data and creating robust test results reports including hardware resource utilization.
