Performance Engineer

Our IT services provider urgently need a strong Performance Testing Engineer to work for their global blue chip financial client in Zurich.

The Performance Testing team provides services for performance testing for software projects wishing to make use of these centralized services; it also maintains and owns the tools required for this work. The services are used by a large part of the client's software development, including new custom software projects, new 3rd-party software introductions, and maintenance.

Some main duties indicative of required competencies:
- Planning high quality tests to achieve objectives in cooperation with the customer and supporting them on how to best achieve the required objectives
- Executing tests, analysing results and immediate quality control of the tests
- Documenting and reporting test outcomes
- Documenting and following standard procedures; the team works in a relatively pragmatic way, but operates under high demands for transparency and repeatability.
- Documenting, reporting and tracking product issues with product vendor support to resolution

Technical requirements:
- Performance testing experience mandatory; performance engineering (designing, building, maintaining systems with high performance) considered a plus.
- Performance testing tools:

HP LoadRunner/Performance Center (mainly protocols Web HTTP/HTML, AJAX TrueClient, EJB)
- Experience with other testing tools like JMeter, Grinder, automated functional testing tools etc.
- Application development:

Web applications; must know eg how to analyze HTTP protocol exchanges using tools like Firebug or Wireshark
- Programming skills - structured programming, API's and frameworks, bug fixing etc.
