Peptide Chemistry Scientist (m/f/d)

MY DUTIES:

- Design, plan and execute projects in peptide and protein synthesis
- Design and prepare special building blocks for the synthesis of difficult and challenging peptides
- Manage and work together with a few scientific associates
- Coordinate with in-house and external CRO teams to execute projects in a timely and reliable manner
- Hands-on synthesis of peptides from mg to gram scales by automated and manual solid phase peptide synthesis techniques
- Purification of peptides by analytical, preparative HPLC and all related techniques
- Identify and implement innovative methods for purification of peptides
- Characterization of peptides by modern mass spec, sequencing and other related techniques
- Careful and diligent documentation of research results to ensure reproducibility and compliance
- Carefully manage and organize raw materials and synthesized materials together with associates and colleagues
- Prepare project reports and presentations for team meetings and discussions

MY QUALIFICATIONS:

- A completed PhD
- Experience in peptide synthesis, both solid phase and solution phase synthesis
- Experience in preparing modified peptides of various lengths in batch and parallel processes
- Experience in designing and synthesis of special monomers for peptide synthesis
- Experience in peptide scale-up and familiarity with cGMP production is advantageous
- Ability to execute independent tasks in coordination with a team of researchers in a timely manner
- Ability to organize and coordinate research with small team to meet key deliverables
- Comfortable in coordinating and working collaboratively with CRO’s
- Organizational and communication skills with profound English knowledge
