PENSIONS ARCHITECT

BASED IN NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE
6 MONTH CONTRACT

Pensions Architect to help determine how much of the existing Business, Security and IT architecture can be re-used & mapped to the new business blueprint.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for production of high-level solutions for the new Pension projects.
- Specify the IT infrastructure related to hosting, platforms and storage for Pensions Systems
- Providing IT technical leadership, consultancy, expertise and direction to the business projects and working with suppliers to ensure that new technologies are considered and impacted, and IT solutions are effective, efficient and consistent with our Enterprise IT architecture
- Development and maintenance of the enterprise IT architecture document set for the Departments assets in this area.
- Keeping the IT architecture in step with industry developments.
- Assisting in the development, definition and maintenance of the enterprise IT architecture for the Pensions programmes by completing Enterprise Architecture Dashboards and other documents.
- Providing IT technical leadership, consultancy, expertise and direction to the team and working with suppliers to ensure that new technologies are considered and impacted, and IT solutions are effective, efficient and consistent with:
- Agreed IS and IT strategies and supporting policies, frameworks procedures and standards and
- Departmental and BU strategic, business and financial objectives.
- Helping create an engaged and collaborative organisation that delivers extraordinary results in everything it does.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Strong IT architect with experience of designing large scale, digital payment services covering application and technical architectures.
- Experience of utilising commodity public/private cloud based services.
- Experience of leading, engaging and managing people and teams and driving change in a Matrix environment.
- Experienced in the definition and delivery of IT strategies delivering business value including strategic planning or developing strategic capabilities within a large and complex multi-supplier organisation.
- Proven track record of having exploited information and technology for business benefit and innovation within a corporate environment.
- Knowledge of strategic planning and modelling frameworks.
- Extensive experience of working with senior executives in a large and complex federated business environment.
- Proven ability to articulate, to a professional standard, complex technical ideas in clear, informative and accessible language, tailored as necessary for the intended audience.
- Highly developed networking and stakeholder management skills.
- IT Solution Design in large complex multi supplier environments.
- Experienced user of industry standard Enterprise Architecture frameworks - eg The Zachman Framework, TOGAF.
- Highly experienced in the development of Enterprise Architectures for large organisations.
- Understanding of industry best practice in the use of IS/IT enabled business change.
- Ability to influence executive/senior management
- Proficient in methods, techniques and tools for planning, organising, resourcing directing, co-ordinating and monitoring ongoing activities demonstrated by experience

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

- PRINCE2
- Oracle's AIM methodology
- CMMi and other Applications Development methodologies and life cycles
