Payroll Team Leader (Resoucelink)

Body The postholder is responsible for the day to day operation and supervision of a team of Payroll Coordinators within the Company in order to ensure the accurate processing of the monthly payroll of approximately 4500 employees and 400 pensioners, with complex contractual terms and payment terms.

This will involve ensuring that payrolls are correctly processed by the team and meet processing deadlines using the Companies integrated payroll and HR system, Resource Link.

The post holder will be required to undertake responsibility for payroll processing and co-ordination and ensure that the end to end payroll process is completed accurately and on time for the charity.

This will involve implementing checking mechanisms to ensure that policies and procedures are followed for overpayments and advances.

In addition the post holder will be required to undertake more complex and non-routine calculations relating to pay and pensions that require additional expertise which other members of the team are unable to perform.

The post holder will be required to identify, investigate and resolve complex financial queries and discrepancies in relation payroll and assist/coach the payroll team in dealing with more complex queries.

The role will require regular communication with statutory bodies including HMRC. Advising staff and managers on complex and sensitive pay related matters which maybe either verbal or written.

The post holder will be required to work with internal and external clients, including employees, managers and external bodies so will have excellent stakeholder management skills. The post holder will be required to work to strict deadlines and tight timeframes however, in this period of transformation within the Charity; they will need to be flexible and adaptable in order to deal with any adhoc and unplanned activities.
