Payroll Specialist - 8 months contract (until December 2013)
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Zurich for a period of approx. 8 months until the end of December 2013 with immediate start. An extension, probably part time, can be discussed.
Summary of Job Purpose:
The Interim Payroll Executive, reporting to the Manager, European Payroll, provides detail-level payroll administration and payroll processing as part of the European Payroll team.
Responsibilities
- Accumulate, submit, control, correct, and communicate salary input information to our external payroll processor.
- Generate reports, provide personnel information for control purposes
- Enter necessary wire transfers and oversee salary payments
- SOX Reconciliations for payroll process
- Keeping him/herself, Finance and HR Departments up to date with changes in social security/taxes and all wages and tax requirements for Switzerland and other countries as directed, and monitor the effect of these changes on the company.
- Handle questions from employees regarding payroll
- Support for European Payroll Manager, as needed
- Other duties and special projects as requested by management
Skills
- Knowledge of Social Security, taxes and employment legislation in Switzerland - more than one country is a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills (Powerpoint and Access skills a plus);
- Good command of German and English both written and verbal; other European languages is a plus;
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft HRMS is a plus;
- Ability to work under pressure and with outside organizations;
- Energetic, initiative and service oriented personality
Time Frame:
100% Starting ASAP through to the end of December 2013
50% Jan and Feb with the possibility of an extension
