Payroll Manager

Our public sector client in Edinburgh is looking for a payroll manager. The role is based in a busy department and is a five month contract to cover project work that the current payroll manager is seconded to.

The role will see you manage a team of seven and be involved across Payroll and HR Data Services as well as working on adhoc projects.

The role starts ASAP and is a five month contract at £130 - £180 per day depending on experience.

You will have the following key responsibilities:
- Great experience working in a payroll function
- Experience as a payroll supervisor or manager
- Responsibility of monthly payroll control accounts
- Responsible for preparation of payroll year end submissions and annual salary reviews.
- Overseeing the operation of the HR Database and working on adhoc project work within this team

You will also get invovled in adhoc project work across managing early pay deadlines across the Christmas and New Year period, ensuring the firm is ready for autro pension enrolement starting in May 2013.

You will have the following skills:
- Working knowledge of PAYE legislation
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills to speak to people at all levels.

Overall, you will be a self motivated and proactive person. There are a lot of experienced members in the team and they will help you get used to the systems and get settle in.
