Leigh Day is a leading claimant-only law firm specialising in the more challenging and complex aspects of Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Human Rights law. This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant and growing team of partners and staff who are committed to providing justice to individuals. We are urgently seeking a Paralegal to join our International & Group Claims department.

The successful Paralegal will have a responsible position working on a large scale international group litigation. The role will primarily involve working in Kenya to meet and interview clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate information and instructions from clients are obtained in Kenya. The Paralegal will also be required to assist with logistics and the tasks involved are varied.

Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel to Kenya and working in sometimes challenging conditions. A high standard of performance is expected, with the ability to deal sensitively with the clients. Good time management and organisation skills are essential, together with the ability to work to strict deadlines and targets. The successful candidate will be able to show excellent problem solving skills and be an effective communicator. The successful applicant will possess good IT skills including previous experience of working with databases. Candidates should have a legal background and experience of working in Africa is desirable.

• Start date: Immediate (Thursday 7th or Friday 8th March 2013)
• This is a full-time fixed 1 month contract position (subject to possible renewal)
• The successful Paralegal will travel to Kenya for 3 weeks in March (11-31 March). Candidates should therefore hold a current passport.
• Salary: Competitive
