Paralegal

Provides support to attorneys. Under the direction of an attorney, resolves routine legal issues. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, etc. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to an attorney.

UNIQUE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help build and maintain a database/electronic repository of NERC investigations and open enforcement matters, including working with attorney's to prioritize, calendar, and meet key external and internal deadlines
Help build and maintain database/electronic repository of legal's NERC interpretations (eventually making it accessible to NERC clients via SharePoint, or another type of system.
Perform research on NERC and FERC guidance, interpretations, and penalty determinations on reliability matters.
Support to and perform aspects of internal investigations, self-reporting, and mitigation plan development and implementation.
Coordinating with external regulatory paralegals and administrative personnel and internal clients on matters related to open audit, enforcement actions, settlements, etc.

SKILLS:

May require a bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
