Paintshop Apprentice

About Us

Cargiant the largest single site car supermarket in the world, is currently recruiting an Apprentice to join our Paintshop department in White City (North West London).

The apprentice will work under the supervision of skilled staff while aiding them in any area required. The Apprentice will also have the ability to follow clear instructions, learn new skills efficiently and to good standards as well as support other areas within the Paintshop.

Main duties and responsibilities

-Being able to follow clear instructions
-Read and understand job instructions prior to starting job
-Prep and mask up vehicles including alloys
-Strip small parts from vehicles when required
-Minimise dents and scratches and blow in panels and alloys using smart repair techniques
-Mask up and primer repaired and new panels when required
-Reseal panels when required
-Flat and polish including non-painted vehicles when required
-Clean Ovens and change filters when required
-Collect new parts and distribute to the right vehicles when required
-Take and collect vehicles from other departments when required
-Colour check and paint mix
-Keep housekeeping to a high standard in the prep area including ovens & mix room
-Jet wash vehicles after final checks before they leave the Paintshop
-Ensure good standards of workmanship
-Ensure all work is carried out within Health & Safety guidelines
-Undertaking any other ad hoc tasks as requested by Management and other senior staff

About you

-NVQ Level 2 qualification in Paintshop
-Full and valid UK or EU driving licence
-Excellent communication skills
-Self-motivation and ability to learn new skills
-Ability to work on own initiative
