Packaging Mechanic

Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for a PACKAGING MECHANIC to join our client, the world leader in the consumer goods industry, located in the Malvern, PA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electrical capabilities. PLC programming and electrical wiring troubleshooting is mandatory with mechanical capabilities secondary.
- Operate, troubleshoot and maintain packaging equipment (eg High-speed blister equipment, walleting/carding and bottling equipment).
- Purchase tooling and spare parts for equipment. Maintain an accurate inventory and produce inventory report on a regular interval.
- Write SOPs relating to packaging equipment.
- Liaise with vendors and Facilities management team to assure preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment are performed according to schedule.
- Assist with writing and performing equipment validation plan.
- Supervise packaging operations including equipment operations (eg High-speed blister machine and bottling), walleting/carding, labeling and assemblies including associated personnel.
- May assist Operations Supervisor in liaising with vendors on tooling design development, approval, manufacture and implementation.
- May interact with other groups to develop packaging designs (eg Communicate equipment constraints, tooling timelines, and engineering design intricacies).
- Participate in departmental safety committee.
- Ensure that departmental safety practices are communicated and upheld.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field with experience in the packaging industry or six to eight (6-8) equivalent experience
- PLC technical certifications with experience in the packaging industry or related equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of various packaging equipment required.
- Ability to supervise production technicians is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are needed.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and diagramming software is preferred.
- Klockner blister equipment and tooling design experience IS preferred.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
