Packaging Engineer

Lead & drive the definition and execution of a global packaging strategy for the 3 divisions with the objective to support our global objectives, in particular improvements on Safety, Quality, Sustainability and cost related to packaging.

DUTIES:

- Packaging specification
- Packaging incoming control
- Supplier selection in collaboration with Purchasing
- Packaging related complaints
- Packaging related HSE incidents
- Packaging cost
- Packaging Sustainability index
- Reports solid line to manager and dotted line to Global VP.
- Leads Team
- Is in close relation to the 3 division SC manager to establish the packaging strategy and define yearly objectives.
- Define optimal packaging specification for each packaging type (IPC, Drums, Jerrican, cardboard box,...) in terms of product safety, transport safety, product quality, handling & transport and packaging cost.
- Implement global best practices for incoming packaging material control
- Implement packaging supplier qualification and audits in collaboration with Purchasing and QHSE
- Manage packaging developments related to requirements of clients/business
- Implement a continuous packaging improvement process in terms of safety and quality improvement, environmental impact reduction and overall cost reduction.
- Leads a multidisciplinary and multi-divisional "Packaging Expert Team" with the objectives to continuous improve the packaging (Safety, Sustainability, Quality and Cost)
- Design and document end to end process for packaging changes/new pack introduction

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

- College degree is preferred
- 5+ years' experience managing packaging portfolio
- Experience/knowledge of chemical compatibility of packaging with different materials
- Flavors/Fragrances industry experience is a plus but not required
