Packaging Development Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER to join our client in Parsippany, NJ.

JOB OVERVIEW:
- The Packaging Development Engineer will assist in the Exploration & Development of Packaging specific projects related to the GastroIntestinal category of business.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead package development programs from concept design to commercialization
- Identify and develop new packaging components that support category business objectives
- Work closely with packaging suppliers to deliver project requirements
- Coordinate and perform packaging line trials at company plants and contract manufacturing locations as needed
- Work closely with equipment vendors to insure packaging machine ability
- Work closely with R&D to insure that key product requirements are identified and delivered
- Identify and initiate package performance testing components
- Initiate distribution testing for component evaluation
- Develop & maintain all packaging specifications for all new package components
- Actively participate in multiple cross functional project teams
- Serve as the technical packaging expert

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. Packaging Engineering (or equivalent)
- Three (3) or more years of relevant Packaging Development experience (Consumer preferred or OTC/Pharmaceuticals)
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator
- Extensive technical and theoretical knowledge of packaging materials and processes
- Excellent decision making abilities
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects to meet all critical project milestones written and oral and the ability to interact with all functions/project team members
