OTT Video Streaming Engineer (HLS/DASH)

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Technical support in the operation and maintenance of our video/audio systems and equipment.
- Responsible for engineering project management including coordinating and supervising outside vendors, pre-event planning and testing, and risk mitigation planning.
- Investigate best-practices and new technologies for improving OTT services.
- Be the expert for all streaming equipment with willingness to learn new equipment and practices.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors or Master's (preferred) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a similar relevant science or engineering subject.

EXPERIENCE:

- 2+ years' technique support or maintenance experience in video streaming system and good understand of adaptive bit rate streaming technologies (especially HLS and DASH)
- 2+ years' experience on IP network and Linux.

SKILLS

- Good Understanding of content rights and metadata specifications: Linear, VOD.
- Knowledge of/experience with ABR player
- IP video streaming basic skills required for show support.
- Video encoding and distribution technologies: ABR, MPEG, HLS, HSS, CDN
- Deep knowledge of the service provider video industry including metadata, content acquisition and processing, delivery, and clients.
- Unmanaged clients: Phone, Tablets, STB.
- Good understanding of cloud based video solutions
- Good understanding of multi-tier architectures for web applications and services
- Deep grasp of Network protocols such as TCP, IP, HTTP, and network protocol analysis tools (eg Wireshark).
- Basic IT skill related to Windows and/or Mac desktop support and Servers
- Linux experience
- Fluent in English and it's preferred to speak one of the following language: French/Germany

NICE TO HAVE:

- Programming Experience (Java, C++,Python, JavaScript)
- Web Services: REST, JSON, XML
- Web Server Technologies Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, communication & team work skills
