Oracle Developer with BI Abilities

Business Line

IT Systems and Development (IS&D) is responsible for the IT applications within Rabobank International. The IS&D business line Finance IT in Utrecht is responsible for the development, intenance and support of the financial accounting system, ledger, financial data warehouse and regulatory reporting.

The team

The development team amongst others maintains and develops the financial data warehouse (FDW). The FDW is part of a large complex, global environment, Global Financial Systems, that has the aim to deliver a consistent, complete, correct, effective, timely, single source for financial accounting. The FDW supports the analysis and reporting of detailed financial information and enriches this with non-financial data.

Your function

We are currently looking for an experienced Oracle developer with business intelligence abilities to strengthen the development team within Finance IT.
You will be responsible for designing and building solutions to meet requirements from the business. You will also be packaging releases and deliver support during go-live and possibly month end runs. Your work could be part of a project or our baseline work.

Your profile

You are an experienced developer with proven knowledge in Oracle and Informatica PowerCenter, the ETL tool in use for our Financial Data Warehouse.
For more complex functionality or for performance reasons, many functions are custom build with Oracle Technology so expertise in PL/SQL and creating packages and procedures is required. Reporting is supported by Business Objects.
You have of course a lot of affinity with finance in general and have a good understanding of accounting.

Working experience

6 or more years working experience (MUST)

having worked in the financial sector (MUST)

Involved in building and maintaining data warehouses or Business Intelligence applications on Oracle platforms

Preferably experience working in an international working environmen

Systems experience:

Experience with ETL tool, Informatica PowerCenter (MUST)

Experience with Oracle RDBMS (MUST), preferably version 9 or higher

Oracle PL/SQL language (MUST)

Experience with Business Object (preferred)

Experience with Linux, korn- and bash Shell Scripting is a pre (preferred)

Experience with Business Objects is a pre (preferred)

Functional/Technical experience:

Broad knowledge on the subject of Business Intelligence concepts in general

Capability to design, build and improve complex data structures and processes

Capability to identify, analyze and resolve performance issues

Knowledge of and experience with Database concepts (required)

Knowledge of and experience with Data Warehouse ETL concepts (required)

Knowledge of and experience with (Oracle) SQL tuning (required)

Knowledge of and experience with Visual SourceSafe (preferred)

Knowledge of and experience with interface issues (preferred)

Knowledge of and experience with Finance reporting concepts (preferred)

Education:

University (UK), HBO/University (NL) preferably in Programming, Information Technology or a mathematical or scientific subject.
