Oracle DBA (Heavy Performance Tuning)

Our client is looking for a very strong Oracle DBA who specializes in doing performance tuning.

The ideal candidate would be able to assist the Oracle DBA team with performance tuning opportunities and recommend code efficiencies to developers and the overall operating platform . Our database versions are Oracle 10gR2 and 11gR1. Proficiency in the following key areas are desired:

Strong Oracle performance tuning skills

Strong PL/SQL skills to recommend efficiencies

Understand Oracle's Optimizer and the affect from table and system statistics.

Understand histograms and child cursors.

Understanding of AWR, ASH and other reporting tools.

Understand how to monitor and understand data from Oracle Grid Control.

Strong documentation skills.

Strong communication skills to transfer knowledge to the DBA staff and non-DBA staff at various levels of skill.

U ses the following tools. Knowledge of these tools is preferred. Quest Toad, Oracle SQL Developer, Quest SQL Optimizer, Oracle Grid Control and Oracle Cloud Control.
