Oracle DBA (Database Administrator)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an ORACLE DBA (DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR) to join our client in Plano, TX.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Full life cycle support of clients database(s).and Sun and Intel Hardware
- Responsible for database backups, recoveries, patches, upgrades and performance tuning, troubleshooting.
- Will work with DBA team to design and build new structures to support future enhancements and support to the applications.
- Responsible for sharing 24 x 7 on call duties with other team members.
- Will Maintain the Sun Hardware by working with Sun support.
- Working with Oracle and Dell support for Oracle Sun and Intel Hardware issues.
- Monitoring system stability and performance.
- Troubleshooting system performance issues, diagnosing problems, and correcting issues with technicians located in remote data centers around the country.
- Ensuring 24x7x365 operation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of four (4) years of experience working with Oracle database systems on UNIX is required.
- Oracle 10g DBA experience required (RAC setup/configuration is strongly preferred).
- Candidate must have strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidate must have experience in Oracle 10g database architecture, logical and physical design, automation, documentation, installs, Shell Scripting, PL/SQL programming, backup and recovery, Oracle Grid monitoring, and database and query tuning.
- Candidates with 10g OCP are highly preferred.
- Oracle 11g experience is preferred.
- RMAN and Data Guard experience in Oracle 10g or higher are ideal.
- Experience with Logical and Physical standby troubleshooting.
- Good performance and tuning skill set is needed.
- Database partitioning, patching, cloning experience preferred.
- Experience with Oracle ASM, Grid Control is required.
- Experience with opening tar using Metalink and working with Oracle support.
- Experience with Sun Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is required.
- Experience with EMC storage management, Sun Storage Management, Sun and Intel Hardware Management.
