ORACLE DATABASE SPECIALIST 11/12C (3707)

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

- AT LEAST SIX YEARS OF RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH ORACLE DBA AND APPLICATION INTEGRATION SUPPORT
- Oracle 11 and 12c DBA Certification or relevant professional experience
- Experience with Oracle RAC Clusters and Database Monitoring using Oracle Grid Control
- RedHat Linux administration
- Experience in Change and Release Management
- EXPERIENCE IN APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT USING JAVA AND TOMCAT
- ITIL Foundation Certificate
- EXPERIENCE IN SERVICE MANAGEMENT, IN PARTICULAR SERVICE PROVIDER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AND MANAGING RELATIONSHIP WITH MULTIPLE BUSINESS STAKEHOLDERS
- PRINCE2 Foundation
- Experience in using Oracle pluggable databases
- Excellent working knowledge of English

ABOUT THE ROLE:

- Supplier Relationship Management for Oracle DBA Operations, with the expected result of high levels of User satisfaction with database availability exceeding 99%; and enforcement of standard Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management procedures
- Defining and validating the monitoring and alerting functions implemented
- Technical review and validation of Change & Service Requests raised by administrators or Application Developers
- Validating and improving measures aimed at controlling excessive resource usage by a single application on the shared RAC platform
- Defining and tuning database backup strategies from the point of view of performance and conformity with defined business requirements
- Providing technical coordination for investigating and resolving reported database problems and incidents
- Follow-up of database incidents, including preparing of Incident Reports and implementation of preventive measures
- Application Support services, with a progressive move towards standard Release Management procedures
- Defining the controls that need to be applied as part of the application release process, including code analysis, review of indexes, performance tuning, effective use of database connections by the application, etc.
- Providing programming guidelines for the efficient use of Middleware resources, database connections and RAC facilities
- Providing guidelines for running resource intensive scripts and ensuring validation of scripts before they are released in production
- Monitoring resource usage with the Oracle Grid Control tool and coordinating the debugging of performance issues
- Project Coordination support for the ongoing Oracle RAC Migration project with the expected result of the project delivered according to the Project Plans with high level of stakeholder satisfaction and buy-in
- Performing other duties as required
