Oracle Application DBA

Description

The candidate will work with a team of business users, Java developers, architects and system DBAs to prepare, maintain, and implement database release code across various development and testing environments. The Application DBA must understand business objectives, and standard database metadata artifacts in order to transition the application into operational status, and assist with application support and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

- Maintains development and test database instances in support of application development life cycle
- Maintains database release scripts throughout the application development life cycle
- Generates test data
- Responsible for data integrity within test database instances
- Attends use case reviews
- Provides support for system migration activities
- Assists in production problem resolution
- Composes and executes ad hoc queries for user requests
- Supports and Researches all database defect resolutions
- Assists in troubleshooting database connectivity issues
- Provides Tier 1 Production Support for in-house applications
- Participant in on-call rotation schedule

Qualifications

- 5+ years experience in data analysis and Oracle database administration
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Experience with the following: Oracle SQL Developer or Toad for Oracle, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle RDMSUtilities, DML, DDL, and PL/SQL
- Experience with the following a plus: Rational Data Architect, JIRA toolset, Business Intelligence database concepts
- Experience with supporting a project development team
- Bachelors Degree in any field of study or commensurate experience required.
