My client is looking for an Oracle Application Architect for an initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extensions.

Details of the role are as follows:
1. 24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by our business systems;
2. Standby service 1 week/month;
3. 25% Administration with 25% Daily management, 50% Oracle and SQL PL/SQL work;
4. Design, development and administration of Oracle databases;
5. Performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of Oracle databases;
6. Management and maintenance of back-ups
7. Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and client environments;
8. Reviewing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code;

Essential skills:
1. In-depth knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g/11g with production support experience in a multi-project environment;
2. In-depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL including tuning;
3. Experience with Windows/Unix/Linux in a multi-domain environment including basic commands and Shell Scripting;
4. Oracle Recovery Manager, Import/Export (and Datapump), SQL*Loader;
5. Oracle performance and tuning skills including server configuration and tracing facilities;
Oracle Enterprise Manager;
6. Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools;
7. Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and the ability to prioritise on the fly;
8. Experience of supporting multiple teams within a business;
9. Familiarity with Oracle specific tools and utilities;
10. Good documenting skills ( Windows Office/Visio)
