Optics Design R&D Engineer (m/f/d)

MY DUTIES:

- R&D projects for medical products in the field of optical 3D acquisition for dental applications used worldwide such as: CEREC Primescan, Omnicam and inEos X5.
- You design and simulate complex optical systems including tolerancing and stray light analysis.
- You will develop optics-related software procedures and algorithms for proofs of concept, for specification development, and for analytical tasks.
- You work in the project team, take on the sub-project management or project management and you are responsible for the associated project goals (specification, timelines, cost).

MY QUALIFICATIONS:

- You have successfully completed a scientific or technical degree (MSc or PhD) and you have proven experience in optics design for products manufactured at industrial scale.
- Profound knowledge in physical and technical optics and in optical design and simulation programs like Zemax or CodeV.
- Ideally, you have experience in the field of signal processing, optical 3D measurement technology and the transfer of technically demanding development results into the production process.
- Good programming skills in Python, Matlab, LabVIEW and C/C++ are a plus.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
- High level of initiative, goal and team orientation as well as fluent communication skills in German and English.
