Operator

Very long term contract assignment on a federal facility in the Detroit, MI area. A Stationary Engineer license in state of MI is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Duties involve: work in a safe manner, observing and interpreting readings on gauges, adjust control to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system, perform weekly tests, PM on machinery and equipment through provided schedules
- Operate and maintain one or more systems that provide an establishment with such services as heat, air-conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water or electricity
- Adjusting controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided
- Record in logs various aspects of the system's operation

REQUIREMENTS

- Excellent mechanical aptitude is needed for maintenance
- Boiler tendering and operations experience is needed
- Must have proven working knowledge of following: HVAC systems (chillers, boilers and associated auxiliary equipment), and backup electrical generator building systems
- Keeping the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order.
- May oversee and coordinate activities of subcontractors and vendors in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining systems
