Link Technologies is currently recruiting for an OPERATIONS MANAGER. This is a contract position working on an exciting new project in Colorado Springs, CO. Candidates interested are encouraged to apply.

SUMMARY:

Manage a team of Operators who provide 24x7x365 operational support and systems monitoring to all mission functions of the program; such as systems, AIX, DB2, SQL, Storage Area Network (SAN), Windows, Network and Server administration, scheduling, system maintenance, and data metrics. Perform detailed monitoring and reporting of key system performance indicators related to the client site and program mission. Identify and report inaccuracies with system and process cycle. The Operations Manager will reports directly to the Program Site Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Attend government and contractor staff meetings; brief operational system status, accomplishments, problems and requests
- Act as a liaison between adjacent program offices and the client site mission. Liaison duties encompass handling problems, changes, updates, procedures, adding new programs and format of data concerns with the individual programs
- Work as a liaison and maintains working relationship between Government IT Manager, Supervisors and the IT Operations group
- Ensure communication on new requirements, and changes are fulfilled to customer satisfaction
- Review resumes, conduct interviews, determine external candidates and execute staffing. Manage all staff activities for 14 employees and handle process improvement
- Provide training plans for operations staff as new requirements are determined by mission objectives requested by government staff
- Update standard operating procedures and documentation
- Create monthly project management review metrics to encompass system maintenance activities and data load metrics
- Perform on call, 24x7, duties for mission support contact upon system failures, problems, and issues
- Report all issues to government contact, site manager and systems manager
- Provide briefings for onsite visitors on mission tasks, accomplishments and data flow
- Must be willing to act as a Shift Operator as mission needs require (24x7 support)
- Confirm shift coverage is provided by operations staff 24x7, manage schedule activities and government concerns on staffing limitations and needs
- Will work with accounting reporting issues, time tracking, and vacation approval
- Responsible for maintaining large network infrastructure, architecture, software applications and system administration. The manager is responsible for maintenance deployment schedules in a high intensity IT environment. May act as an alternate for the Systems Manager
- Required to report to work on short notice
- Contribute to Statement of Work (SOW) revisions and approvals for current workload and new SOW requirements
- Expected to make decisions in a short time frame and provide workaround solutions to problems to enable mission success
- Lead in the development of new processes to improve production efficiency
- Monitor and track Remedy Tickets/trouble tickets that are created by the operations staff in response to system issues to ensure that they are address by the appropriate personnel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written expression
- Excellent customer service skills; and must be professional and willing to handle all tasks that are required to accomplish mission objectives
- Configuration Management (CM) experience or knowledge to aid with process improvement
- Strong familiarity with ITIL v3 Model Processes
- Experience with VISIO to create process and data flow diagrams
- Has expert level experience with Excel with ability to provide graphical data metrics
- Expert experience with MS Office 2010
- Help Desk support or Information Management
- Experience as a Systems Administrator
- IT Monitoring Software
- Remedy/ClearQuest ticketing system
- Ability to overcome and adjust to new and or altered procedures
- Attention to detail and multitasking skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Experience with: XML, SQL, and large database systems
- Visual Basic Editor - (Intermediate) Macro coding
- Unix/AIX (Intermediate)

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

- BS in related discipline and 7-10 years of experience

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

- DoD Secret and DHS suitability

WORKING HOURS:

8 am - 5 pm
