Operational Accountant

A leading investment bank is looking for an Operational Accountant to be based in their office in Manchester. As Operational Accountant you will be assisting the Manager and Senior Operational Accountants in certain processes within the Operational Accounting team in accordance with deadlines and ensuring that the integrity of the financial control environment is maintained at all time. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing accounting processes associated with payroll, pensions and risk benefits, production of VAT returns and assisting in the UK controllers month-end close processes.

The Ideal candidate will:

- Have a background in the financial services or working in global organisations
- Have a strong book keeping background
- Have a good amount of experience of doing Reconciliations
- Demonstrated the ability to pick things up quickly and be flexible in their roles
- Be a part qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
- Have good exposure to working with general ledger systems and related reporting tools
- Will have good PC skills, particularly in Excel
