OPEN-RANK FACULTY POSITION in Biomolecular Catalysis
Department of Biochemistry, University of California, Riverside

The Department of Biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for a new faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the general area of Biomolecular Catalysis, specifically including (but not limited to) areas of Enzyme Dynamics, Metalloenzymology, RNA Catalysis, and the Enzymology of One-Carbon Compounds. The position is part of a continuing interdisciplinary effort at UCR to expand biomolecular catalysis and molecular biophysics on campus, particularly in areas with biomedical relevance.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop (or have already developed) a vigorous, independent, and internationally recognized research program that is able to attract extramural funding, develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and undertake service activities. A competitive start-up package will be provided, with salary commensurate with education and experience. The position is available July 1, 2016. A Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field is required. Interested individuals should send a full curriculum vitae, a description of proposed research, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a cover letter. A statement addressing potential contributions of the applicant to diversity is encouraged. Applicants for appointment at the Assistant Professor level should arrange for at least three letters of reference to be provided. Applicants for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level should provide the names and addresses of at least three references.
