Job Description - OBD ENGINEER/SR. FUNCTION DEVELOPER (THERMAL MANAGEMENT)
LOCATION: Turin, Italy
TYPE: Fulltime Permanent
TRAVEL: Less than 25%.
- This project will be onsite with one of the world's biggest automotive OEMs onsite at their Italian location. It is an exciting senior technical and leadership role.
- Upon completion of the assignment, a full time permanent role with KPIT or one of our customers globally is a possibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- OBD function development for Thermal management system.
- Support Controls development and Calibration of thermal management system.
- Co-ordinate with Advanced Engineering groups and current product development to develop diagnostics concepts and function specifications for current and future products.
- Mentor other function developers on Diagnostics development
- Document work, present to management and perform Knowledge Transfer activity.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
- 3 years of direct function development experience, focused on one of the following subsystems on advanced products (compliant with US, EU or equivalent regulations): cooling systems, air handling, fuel systems or After treatment subsystems
- Expertise with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) development.
- Control Systems development knowledge.
- High proficiency with model based development environment (Simulink).
- Familiar with Calibration tools such as INCA (other tool knowledge acceptable).
- Experience with documenting development, knowledge of function development best practices.
- Able to present technical concepts both to peers and management.
- Bachelor's in Engineering, preferably Mechanical engineering or Electrical engineering.
- Spoken and written English for technical communication.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Candidates with Master's degree in Control Systems or equivalent experience will be of particular interest.
- Knowledge of IBM DOORS or equivalent.
- Diesel engine experience would be an advantage.
- Prior experience with mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Prior intercultural or international experience would be an advantage.
