NVH Engineer (Noise Vibration & Harshness)

Yoh has an excellent contract opportunity for an NVH ENGINEER (NOISE VIBRATION & HARSHNESS) to join our client located in Marshall, MI.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply engineering principles and theories and technical core competencies for the advancement of Noise, Vibration and Harshness technologies as they apply to product portfolios.
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment as significant acoustic, vibrational and dynamic technical problems are anticipated and solved.
- Determines program objectives, organizes projects, and develops standards and guidelines related to the physical science.
- Directly interfaces with customers for problem solving, product improvement and cost reduction issues.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSME required.
- The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of five (5) years is required of NVH engineering experience designing and validating powertrain-related systems for meeting sound quality requirements for vehicle applications with a focus on speed synchronous order analysis and diagnosis of impulsive NVH characteristics.
- Experience with internal combustion engine NVH assessment, diagnosis and treatment of both tonal and broadband issues is required.
- Experience with Roots type compressors would be ideal.
- The applicant needs to be versed in LMS Test Lab and ideally would have experience in Head Acoustics ArtemiS and B&K Pulse as well.
- Some travel can be expected and the applicant may need to travel internationally.
- NVH engineering experience related to air induction systems, gear systems, and/or mechanical systems.
- Applicant should have knowledge of analysing NVH problems and applying a structured approach toward identifying root cause contributors and developing/validating engineering solutions.
- Experience with Head Acoustics and Matlab dynamic modelling would be beneficial.
- Well developed communication skills are necessary for direct customer, supplier, and manufacturing contact. Familiarity with TS16949 or QS-9000 quality systems.
- Good verbal and written communications skills are required.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- MSME is preferred.
