Non-Prescribing Substance Misuse Worker

The opportunity has arisen for a substance misuse worker to join a team in the West Yorkshire area treating patients with drug and alcohol difficulties. The post is full-time (37.5 hours per week. One potential late night a week and one potential Saturday a month) for a period of 2 months, with a view to extend. The position is paying 12ph Limited, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:
*The candidate will work within a new substance misuse team, carrying a case load of 18-65 year old substance misuse patients providing high quality care.
* You will be required to perform signposting, assessments, risk assessments, assisting in script writing and working with both harm reduction and health promotion, carry out 1:1 sessions and occasional group work
* To work effectively as part of a MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) and liaise with Doctors.

Person Specification:
* Must be a General Nurse or Mental Health Nurse who is currently registered with the NMC.
* The successful candidate must have previous experience of working with substance misusers, and a working knowledge of counselling, CBT or psychosocial interventions is beneficial.
* A minimum 6 months working with a wide range of substance misuse clients.
