£160 - £180 p/d

My Client is currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Officer to lead the preparation of public health contracts in readiness for the transfer of these contracts from the NHS to the LA in April 2013.

They must be able to demonstrate understanding and knowledge of NHS and Local Authority relating to commissioning. The commission officer must be very pro-active and motivated with the ability to be well organised to keep within strict deadlines.

Commissioning Officer

- Understand the role of Public Health and what statutory services have to be provided
- A successful track record of service delivery, leading a variety of projects or programmes (NHS, public sector or private sector)
- Experience in decision making skills
- Excellent written and presentation skills, having put together project proposals before.
- Confidence in reporting to board meetings within the Local Authority
- Understanding of the financial and performance elements of commissioning
- Contract management experience and experience of drafting contracts
